What does it mean to be an Emirati.
Being an emirati
for me is all about clinging to our religion, tradition and to our ancestor’s
way of living in the UAE. Emirate is an
Islamic country and like all other Islamic countries we have Arabic as our
first language and English as our second.
Traditions,
Families in the UAE are connected unlike other countries families gather and
most of them buy lands near each other so that they can be in touch all the
time. The man in our religion is allowed to marry 4 women but that is only if
he was capable of handling all four together and not missing each one’s rights.
Moreover,
hobbies, most people nowadays go for dune bashing, hunting with falcons and shooting.
Camel racing is one of the most famous sports in the United Arab Emirates. In addition,
there is pearl diving which is the basic foundation of the UAE economy and
after that came the oil and replaced it.
