Obama's Speech

Barack Obama in his speech, he called for unity and improvement for all the ethnic groups. Obama named the different groups one by one like; Black and white, Asian or Native American, young or old, Rich or poor, able of disabled, gay or straight. All for the sake of raising the morals of the people and giving them the hope they needed and he targeted the people in the middle class that are not comfortable in their lives and stated that he will be giving them their rights as Americans. UAE versus Cambodia

The UAE and Cambodia have many similarities in both traditions and people behavior. For example, In Cambodia tradition they have a very strong family identity and loyalty which is similar to UAE tradition. Moreover, both countries show high respect towards culture and elders. Furthermore, The Cambodians tend to be more stoic, they don’t show emotions however, the Emirates are close to affective they show more emotions and gestures when arguing to If they have something to say. In addition, both countries show respect to women and act modest among them. Overall, in my opinion I think that both cultures have very similar foundation with sew differences in religion acts and beliefs.

Reflection #4 "Gap Year"

Reflection #4

Taking a gap year increases the moral and social status of the student and they seem to be more mature and therefore, their academic performance increases. In my opinion, I think that United Arab Emiratis is already engaging in giving students a chance to take gap years  for example, some students were send to India and Africa in order to help them build houses and shelters for the poor in order to let the students see how life is in poor societies. I would like to take a gap year myself I have always wanted to do that because I know that by doing it I will be able clear whatever doubts I have about what I’m going to do in the future and clear my mind by doing stuff that I have  dreamed of doing for example, I was to go to Kenya and help in doing volunteer work in protecting the wild life and I also was to go the Himalayas mountains to do so climbing and also I would love to visit Cambodia to volunteer in helping the poor distributing food and teach the children basic Mathematics which is what I’m good at. I think that by doing that I would be relieved from the stress I have and would be really nice to be able to help the people that require attention. The UAE is contributing in distributing food in Cambodia and some medical supplies all for the good of giving the poor a chance in surviving the harsh environment they live in.
