Reflection #4
Taking a gap year increases the moral and social status of the student and they seem to be more mature and therefore, their academic performance increases. In my opinion, I think that United Arab Emiratis is already engaging in giving students a chance to take gap years for example, some students were send to India and Africa in order to help them build houses and shelters for the poor in order to let the students see how life is in poor societies. I would like to take a gap year myself I have always wanted to do that because I know that by doing it I will be able clear whatever doubts I have about what I’m going to do in the future and clear my mind by doing stuff that I have dreamed of doing for example, I was to go to Kenya and help in doing volunteer work in protecting the wild life and I also was to go the Himalayas mountains to do so climbing and also I would love to visit Cambodia to volunteer in helping the poor distributing food and teach the children basic Mathematics which is what I’m good at. I think that by doing that I would be relieved from the stress I have and would be really nice to be able to help the people that require attention. The UAE is contributing in distributing food in Cambodia and some medical supplies all for the good of giving the poor a chance in surviving the harsh environment they live in.
